The Truth of Addiction program was developed by an addiction specialist and draws heavily on the scientific evidence to tackle any kind of addiction. At its core are mindfulness and cognitive therapy techniques, designed to rewire the way the way an individual thinks and responds to cravings and intrusive thoughts about drugs. This psychological approach is supported by information about diet and nutrition, and the role this plays in the way the brain responds to the things that trigger our addiction.
Best for: People who are drug or alcohol dependent, and who like to have a scientific understanding of what causes addiction.
Less suited to: People who may have experienced a alcohol or drug-related brain injury which has decreased their ability to think and reason.
